Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
This policy explains what the operator of aigen.pet collects when you use aigen.pet, and why. We are the data controller. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Photos you upload and the portraits made from them. We re-save uploads, which removes hidden location (GPS) and camera data.
- Account details if you sign up: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Purchase records: which bundle you bought and when. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Technical data: your IP address and a random browser cookie, used to run the free pack limit, prevent abuse and keep you signed in.
Why (legal basis)
- To provide the service you asked for – creating, storing and showing your portraits (contract).
- To prevent abuse of free packs and keep the service secure (legitimate interests).
- To keep financial records (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
- Google (Gemini API) – your photo is sent to Google’s image model to create the portraits. Under Google’s paid API terms, it is not used to train their models.
- Stripe – to take payments.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the data on our behalf.
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Guest packs (made without an account) are deleted automatically after 7 days.
- Account packs are kept until you delete them or close your account. You can delete any pack at any time from its page.
- Purchase records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Who can see your portraits
Each pack has a private, unguessable link. It isn’t listed anywhere and search engines are told not to index it. Anyone you share the link with can view the pack.
Cookies
We only use essential cookies: a session cookie, a security (CSRF) cookie and a random browser id for the free pack limit. No advertising or tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme choice is kept in your browser’s local storage.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to processing. Email us and we’ll respond within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
